Assessment, exam and CBT software development

In short

KriyaXlabs builds assessment and examination software, including AI question generation with an independent verification stage. ExamXFlow, our own product, has produced a bank of 50,002 exam-realistic questions and 607 written micro-chapters, with a computer-based testing branch built on the same content.

Assessment is the one area where a plausible answer is worthless. A question that looks right and is keyed wrong does more damage than no question at all, because it is trusted. That is why the interesting engineering in this sector sits in verification, not generation.

ExamXFlow generates questions with Vertex AI and Gemini and then puts every one through a separate judging pass before it is allowed into the bank. The gate is the product. Fifty thousand unverified questions is a liability; 50,002 verified ones is an asset.

The computer-based testing branch sits on the same content: timed delivery, sectioning and the mechanics candidates expect from a real examination rather than a quiz interface.

What goes wrong here, and what we do about it

01

Generated questions are confidently wrong

An independent verification stage evaluates each item against source and rubric, and rejections are counted and kept. A pipeline that never reports a rejection is not checking anything.

02

Practice does not feel like the exam

Difficulty calibration, sectioning, timing and answer-key discipline modelled on the real paper, so a mock score means something.

03

Test delivery has to hold up under load

Computer-based testing that survives a whole cohort starting at once, with resumable sessions and state that is not lost to a refresh.

04

Item banks rot without governance

Versioning, provenance and review workflow, so an item's history is visible and a bad question can be traced and withdrawn.

What matters disproportionately here

  • 01AI question generation with verification gates
  • 02Question bank versioning and provenance
  • 03Computer-based testing delivery
  • 04Difficulty calibration and analytics
  • 05Offline delivery to low-connectivity candidates
  • 06Institution-scoped result reporting

How we engage

Questions about assessment

Assessment

How do you verify AI-generated questions?

With a separate pass that judges the generated item rather than the model that produced it, checking the stem, the key, the distractors and the alignment to source. Items that do not clear the bar are rejected and recorded. We wrote up the approach in our article on verifying AI-generated exam questions.

Assessment

Can you build a computer-based testing platform for our institution?

Yes. ExamXFlow already has a CBT branch, so the delivery mechanics — timing, sectioning, resumable sessions, result reporting — exist rather than needing invention. What varies per institution is the item bank, the paper structure and the reporting.

Assessment

Do you build proctoring?

We integrate proctoring rather than building surveillance from scratch, and we will be straightforward about the trade-offs. Most integrity problems are better addressed with item randomisation, banking discipline and delivery design than with cameras.
