Why both
Most software companies pick a side. An agency builds what it is told and hands it over. A product company builds one thing and lives inside it. KriyaXlabs does both on purpose, because each one makes the other honest.
Running our own portfolio means we cannot hide behind a handover. We pay the model bills for ExamXFlow, answer to the schools using Crampad Enterprise, and maintain the tenancy model we chose two years ago. Every hard lesson from that goes straight into client work.
And client work keeps the portfolio grounded. It is very easy, when you only build your own products, to mistake an interesting problem for a valuable one.
How we work
Four things we will not trade away.
Verify before you ship, not after
Generation is cheap and generation is not the product. In ExamXFlow a second, stronger model independently solves every question and nothing ships unless exactly one option is provably correct. The same instinct shows up everywhere else we use a model.
Cost is a feature, not an afterthought
Every AI system we build carries a hard spend cap, a kill switch, and measured per-run cost rather than an estimate. An LLM product without a cost ceiling is a liability someone else eventually pays for.
Remove what did not survive contact
Crampad Enterprise deleted its AI tutor and its video-course module because real schools did not use them. Carrying dead surfaces forward is how products become unmaintainable.
Hand over a codebase, not a dependency
Client work ships clean enough to give to an in-house team on the day we finish. If a client cannot leave us, we have not done the job properly.
